Each state shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a number of electors, equal to the whole number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or person holding an office of trust or profit under the United States, shall be appointed an elector.
Implies each state Legislature may prescribe how its Electors are chosen, but there would need to be state constitutional provision, established state law, or state supreme court ruling to prescribe that the state legislature could sumarily nullify that state's (popular) selection of electors that would survive state legal scrutiny and ajudication.
Implies no such thing.
The Constitution STATES the LEGISLATURE shall choose the method of selecting the Electors.
Is a state's Secretary of State a part of the LEGISLATURE? No. That office is part of the Executive branch of the state.
Is the state's courts or the federal courts part of the state's LEGISLATURE? No. Those offices are part of the judiciary.
Did your high school teach American civics while you attended?
State courts ajudicate the criminality of acts, not legislatures.
Good for them.
They're not LEGISLATURES. The Constitution of the United States is written in words. Words MEAN things. Words don't mean what they don't mean. What they don't mean here is any implication that the judicial or executive branches get to rewrite how the LEGISLATURE cast it's election laws.
It takes an act of the legislature to make a Constitutionally valid alteration to the selection process for federal electors.
Slaves, not considered to be free citizens in slave states, were fractionally counted towards apportionment. For some time, the Constitution precribed that non-citizens (slaves) were counted as 3/5 person towards apportionment. Also, before 1920, women did not have the right to vote in Federal elections, but were counted towards apportionment. Children, ineligible to vote, still count towards apportionment. It would probably take an Amendment to the Constitution to limit apportionment counts to legal US citizens or residents.
Oh.
Were those changes made by some podunk local state justice of the peace, or were they altered by ratified Constitutional Amendments, following a process defined using words in the Constitution of the United States?
The Romans shouted down some fool's idea that slaves should wear different clothes than citizens. A dangerous idea and the Senators did not want the slaves to know how hugely they outnumbered the citizens.
The Rodents shouted down the effort to count the Invaders in the US because they've relied on that stupid 11 megaMex number for more than 30 years now, and they don't want the sheeple to know how many invaders are taking over the country.
And, naturally, once the Americans had a firm number on how many invaders were in the country, it's certain they'd demand that the Invaders not be counted towards apportionment, because, as sure as Epstein didn't kill himself, Invaders do not deserve representation. And the friggin' ORIGINAL INTENT of the Founders would certainly bear that claim solidly.
So lets count their asses and take it to the courts.
If it is said that the 2020 election was stolen, same could be said of the 2000 and 2016 elections, both of which made a Republican President.
He's on drugs.
Albore lost because he's stupid and because Ralphie Nader took thousands of votes from his dumb ass in Floriduh, when heh needed only 600.
President Trump won both elections fairly, with the Rodents running a drunken planking totally corrupt harridan in the one election and a totally corrupt senile old fool in the last one.
2020 is in the rear view mirror. 2022, 2024 are in front of us. North Carolina, Florida, Texas, and Montana are Republican leaning states that gained House seats. Democratic and swing states lost seats.
Funny how the sudden revisions from the Rodent controlled census lessened the impact of true population shifts, isn't it?
Economic principle of opportunity cost means that effort expended re-litigating the 2020 election takes resources away from winning the 2022 and 2024 elections.
So we should let the bank robbers keep the loot because it costs to much to prosecute and incarcerate.
Rodents are so generous to give away MY freedoms like that.
The Census needs to be audited. I know for a fact no Census form was returned from my address. I threw it in the fire place. Nor did the Rodent come knocking or calling to check up.
