Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY), who represents the urban city of Louisville, shot arrows at Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) for not being “representative of most of the country†and lamented his influence as a crucial swing vote in the U.S. Senate.
Mr. Yarmuth needs a lesson in why there is a Senate in the first place.
The duty of Senators (at least as originally intended, I believe), was to represent the interests of their states.
They had no obligation to "most of the country" (i.e., "the rest of") outside of their own states.
Indeed the same principle applies to Mr. Yarmuth as well.
Does he truly represent the voters of his district?
If not, then who does he "represent"...?
