Since SCOTUS is simply going to abdicate this issue, R state legislatures will have to adopt far more assertive positions - as determined by their respective state constitutions, impeach State Supreme Court justices, strip the jurisdiction of State Supreme Courts over any questions regarding voting laws, and de-fund those courts. Aggressive R party campaigns against elected State Supreme Court justices should also now become the norm. If the State Supreme Courts are simply going to be political, then let them pay the political price.
If the Rs re-capture the US Congress in 2022, perhaps they should also assert Congressional authority to strip SCOTUS of this jurisdiction. Some, no doubt some here, will argue that would be unconstitutional because SCOTUS has original jurisdiction; strip SCOTUS of jurisdiction over any Congressional act concerning election law, then strip them of jurisdiction over any state act as well. If they aren't going to use their jurisdiction when it plainly should be used, then take it away.
