I've been super busy at work, but just had to make a few minutes to come by and read the posts about Rush.
I will never forget when I first heard Rush's radio show. I was a newly-graduated engineer, working at my first real engineering job. I shared offices with the lead engineer at a small company in the Atlanta area. My first day on the job, the lead engineer asked me if I minded if he listened to a radio show. Of course, I said "sure, no problem". The show was the Rush Limbaugh show, and this was the start of many years (decades) of another loyal Rush fan. Every day for 3 hours, we would listen to this show. I was always a conservative, but this exposure really helped crystalize my worldview. I loved how clear thinking Rush was, and how he presented his views in a positive way with ample comedy mixed in.
With the recent election results, and now this conservative icon passing, it may seem like a dark time for our country. However, I remember one of Rush's last shows (maybe the last one he did) when he said that there is always good, even in the bad things, and if you just give it some time you'll see it.
