Crisis Canceled: Pikas Adapting to Climate Change ‘Remarkably Well’

Comprehensive new research shows pika populations continue to thrive as the Earth modestly warms, throwing cold water on longstanding claims that climate change will soon drive pikas extinct.

Pikas are small mammals that look like hamsters but are more closely related to rabbits. They like cool temperatures and thrive in alpine environments, but are also found at lower elevations in relatively hot climates when they can find cool, craggy, rocky areas for habitation.

During the past decade, pikas have become a poster child for climate activists. Some of the media articles claiming climate change is pushing pikas to the brink of extinction include:

An odd little rat... And one of the few that share distribution with North America and Asia... Most 'shares' run more toward Europe.

And at least around here, they are in no danger of any sort of extinction. And they are under no sort of pressure by Man. They tend to live right at the treeline, or just above it in the barren shield country. 95% of that is never seen by man.

All that's up there is pika, marmot, mountain goat and bighorns, and most of it you can't even stand on.

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
By pushing manufacturing out of the USA further to China and India, etc, we will be worsening global pollution.  The policies of WRECKING BALL JOE are NOT advancing climate change efforts.  Dumb people.
