Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned Pete Buttigieg, President Joe Biden’s nominee for transportation secretary, on Thursday about the president’s executive order to end the Keystone XL Pipeline as part of what the Biden administration claims is a “climate crisis.”

Buttigieg said Biden’s rescinding of a permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline to carry crude oil from Canada into the U.S. is part of “climate vision” that will produce “millions” of jobs. Partial transcript below:

    CRUZ: It was disconcerting to see yesterday, the first day of the Biden administration, straight out of the gate, President Biden announced that he was canceling the Keystone Pipeline. That is a major infrastructure project. That is a project that right now today has 1,200 good-paying union jobs and in 2021, the Keystone Pipeline was scheduled to have more than 11,000 jobs, including 8,000 union jobs for contracts worth $1.6 billion dollars, and with the stroke of a pen, President Biden has told those 11,000 workers — those union workers — your jobs are gone.

    Mr. Buttigieg, what do you say to those workers whose jobs have just been eliminated by presidential edict?

    BUTTIGIEG: I think one of the most important things is to make sure that we make good on the promise of the president’s climate vision as being one that, on net, creates far more jobs, millions, we hope.

    I know that won’t just happen. We’ll have to do a lot of work to make sure that’s real, but getting this right means ensuring that there are more good-paying union jobs for all Americans delivered through that infrastructure vision.

    CRUZ: So for those workers, the answer is, somebody else will get a job?

    BUTTIGIEG: The answer is that we are very eager to see those workers continue to be employed in good-paying union jobs, even if they might be different ones.

    CRUZ: Well, I fear that decision is the front end of a whole series of regulatory decisions — one after the other after the other — that will be eliminating union jobs, that will be eliminating manufacturing jobs, that will be eliminating energy jobs, and that is altogether out of step with what the American people want.

Shutting the pipeline is nothing more than an effort to appease Warren Buffett, who made billions every year transporting the oil on his railroad.

The verdict on Biden will be reflected on well average Americans react to seeing the prices rise at the gas pump. I don't think they're going to be very happy with 3-4 dollar gallon of gasoline again.
Obama liked that idea. His energy secretary, Steven Chu, specifically endorsed the idea of eliminating internal combustion vehicles. Obama got elected twice but had more ability to bullsh*t the public than Biden.
 Biden got elected because he wasn't Trump. He has the charisma of a sack of potatoes. Very old, dried up potatoes.
We shall see. I don't think Biden has the ability to manipulate the public like Obama did.

It takes a 2/3 vote of the Senate to show him the door and IMHO it is likely that they will. He's the last true voice of the people and the DEMS hold the majority so his vote will be an irritant more than anything because  Mittens, McConnell, Murkowski and other RINO's will vote along with the DEMS hoping to keep their seats.

Unfortunately I think we are going to see this conservative tossed aside.

Some people (okay, liberals) said Obama had a lot of charisma allowing him to persuade people of the righteousness of his policies. I think they got the word confused with the ability to bullsh*t people at a very high level.

Doing what, exactly, after Biden also has destroyed all manufacturing jobs and those in the oil, gas and coal extraction industries? Maybe they all could go to Las Vegas, join SEIU and become restaurant dishwashers.

All that matters is Trump gets defeated, RIGHT ?!  All the warnings about Biden mainly fell on deaf ears.  So whats all the bitching about about Trump, Biden was well spelled out and you wanted to live in a socialist UTOPIA and this is just the start !  Like a clearly spelled out, life will become the value of dirt, REMEMBER ?!

To bring it up to speed, Biden instantly killed 11 THOUSAND HIGH PAYING UNION JOBS, BUT DON'T WORRY BIDEN HAS OPENED UP THE BORDERS TO FOREIGNERS SO THEY CAN TAKE WHAT JOBS THERE ARE and TURN HIGH PAYING full time jobs, into low paying part time jobs.  Like Obama did when he ruled.  Obama bad mouthed McD jobs until Obama took over, then he spoke of McDonalds jobs like they were too good for Americans. You get what you vote for, FOOLS!

But but but.....he'll bring in all those illegals and fail to 'legitimize' them just in time to usher in a $15.00/hr minimum wage so those who hire the illegals can get by with REALLY cheap labor while Americans are expected to foot the bill (out of what, I don't know) for all the welfare programs for the illegals.
