Just wow. Nothing like railing, even genteelly against the very behaviour which preserves wealth for future generations. There is nothing more economically devastating than divorce, even amicably, as the gains made in mutual endeavour are divided, not preserved. Often with half being frittered away. The social constraints on marriage (traditionally, that it was going to be for life, so you'd better choose well, and even take your time about it, with advice from extended family, and that divorce was hard to obtain so choose wisely) tended to preserve what gains a family could make, to eventually be passed on to the next generation. Only those who regard themselves as 'privileged' can see that as causing themselves to be 'privileged'. It once was the standard for everyone, and the lack of following it has caused plenty of misery.
That those who are miserable (through abandoning those traditional values, with or without government subsidy) are in the majority doesn't make those who live what once was considered normally "privileged", it just means that poor choices lead to poor results and there is a multitude of test cases out there. Of course, it is far easier to blame those who have some semblance of success than to take the credit for your own situation and change your methods so you, too, can be successful.
I believe that has been defined as "acting white".
