Yes.  Senate Republicans?  Not so much.  Those asshats had Pelosi nailed against the wall, and they chose to let her go.  The last-minute maneuvering by Senate Democrats to pass a vote on calling witnesses was about to backfire on them in a bigtime way.  The Senate had already voted.  The rule had been accepted.  And Pelosi had been put on notice that she would be the first Republican witness called.  So the Dems got the Republicans to withdraw in exchange for them not calling any witnesses.

Republicans are idiots.  There is no Democrat witness who could have come close to the damage that would have resulted from Nancy Pelosi testifying under oath.

Agreed.  Can they still go after Pelosi?  What was her role, what did she know and when did she receive information?  My hunch is she's not the only one.  I think McConnell and Pence knew exactly what was going to happen.
