What should happen in the next 24 hours:
1. Clear the Capitol—as peacefully as possible, but in any case remove the mob from the seat of the legislative branch of our government.
2. Reconvene and finish counting the electoral votes.
3. Impeach in the House, convict in the Senate.

I tend to agree.  Even if SCOTUS had ruled against TX, there would have been a forum and argument, and that would have defused much of the pent-up anger we see today.  But by refusing even to hear the case SCOTUS basically left it to the "Appeals Court of The People" to take the next steps.

When the people have no other way of reminding the government who is sovereign and who serves, they do so by force.

If these are Trump supporters, they are damaging their cause.

But what does anyone expect when a large segment of the population is denied its voice. The machinery of state failed in its duty.

Very perceptive @thackney.  A bona fide Antifa protest would see portraits defaced, statues toppled, and the Capitol building in flames by now.  This crowd seems satisfied just to disrupt the proceedings and take a few selfies.

An additional 1,100 National Guard troops will be activated and headed to the DC armory, more than quadrupling the number of troops already sent bringing the total to 1,450.

The move comes as protestors overcame police and forced their way into Congress.

I did read those posts, and I’m not really a fan of conspiracy theories without facts.

All I can see is trump supporters being pissed off and doing what they have been told to do. Obviously it’s just a minority but people are pissed off they lost, and trump has fanned the flames.

Rudy this morning himself said “trial by combat”.
