I was visiting with my ex at the medical clinic owned and operated by her oldest daughter last summer,and she suddenly got a phone call returned,and damn near went berserk.

So I decided to tune her out. After all,hearing her go berserk was nothing new to me.

And then,SUDDENLY,she spoke in "that voice which MUST be obeyed",and called her 40 year old medical doctor daughter by all three of her names,and had no choice but to tune it. I may have heard that tone of voice myself a time or two while growing up.

So I listened,and faintly,though the telephone handset heard a meeK voice say "But.......,BUT...,MOMMMMM!"

We are none of us immune to "THAT voice",and the funniest part about it is the mother didn't even realize she had been speaking in "THAT voice". I know this because she asked me what I was laughing about.
