Hawley to challenge Electoral College results in Senate

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) said on Wednesday that he will object during Congress's counting of the Electoral College vote on Jan. 6, becoming the first GOP senator to back the effort by House conservatives.

The decision by Hawley would ensure a debate and vote in the House and Senate on the Electoral College results.

“I cannot vote to certify the electoral college results on January 6 without raising the fact that some states, particularly Pennsylvania, failed to follow their own state election laws," Hawley said in a statement.


"And I cannot vote to certify without pointing out the unprecedented effort of mega corporations, including Facebook and Twitter, to interfere in this election, in support of Joe Biden. At the very least, Congress should investigate allegations of voter fraud and adopt measures to secure the integrity of our elections. But Congress has so far failed to act," Hawley added.

His office didn't immediately respond to a question about which states he will object to next week.

Okay, now we have one Pub Sen. on the record saying he will object to a state's electors. Let's see if the flood gates open.

So far I've been pretty disgusted with the cowardice of Pubs and the courts.

Walmart Apologizes for 'Mistakenly Posted' Tweet Calling Sen Josh Hawley 'Sore Loser'

Walmart has apologized for a tweet from its account calling GOP Sen. Josh Hawley a "sore loser." It was "mistakenly posted," a spokesperson told TheWrap Wednesday.

After Hawley tweeted that he plans to object the Senate certification of the Electoral College vote for President-elect Joe Biden next week, the verified Twitter account — which boasts over 1 million followers — replied, "Go ahead. Get your 2 hour debate. #soreloser."

The tweet was deleted just minutes later, and Walmart's account was back to replying to everyday users musing about their upcoming trips to the superstore.

Sometimes, one man showing great courage can start a landslide. Josh Hawley is EXACTLY the kind of leader who will team with the President to turn this party around. There IS no realistic 3rd party...the only path towards saving conservatism and then the nation is to fix the GOP. It’s not as sexy an idea as the absurdly unworkable 3rd party solution, but it will work if we stick wit the President and courageous men like Josh Hawley.

It’s not enough to just be bold...we must also be smart. We cannot win back the country without a strategy...and there is no more idiotic strategy than an effort to split conservatism in two by condoning a 3rd party.
