Pence refused to sign on to plan to overturn election, lawyers say
By Tal Axelrod - 12/29/20 08:57 PM EST

Lawyers representing Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and Arizona’s 11 GOP electors disclosed in a court filing Tuesday that Vice President Pence rejected their request to join their attempt to subvert the results of the presidential election.

Gohmert and the electors filed suit against Pence on Monday in an attempt to argue that the vice president has sole authority to determine which presidential electors Congress will count when it certifies the results of the election. The far-fetched suit essentially asks the court to grant Pence the authority on Jan. 6 to overrule the results in swing states such as Arizona and have Congress count only pro-Trump electors instead of the ones President-elect Joe Biden won.

In new court filings made public Tuesday, the plaintiffs disclosed that they had reached out to Pence before filing their suit in an attempt to join forces but that their talks did not reach any kind of agreement.

As bad as a Biden/Harris inauguration will be for the country, I don't think empowering the VP simply to ignore legally certified EVs in favor of others, even when the former are tainted, is the right way to go.

However were I in charge, I would make sure that Pelosi understood that if the House seated D candidates over R candidates who actually won (as some are urging for Iowa and NY), then similar prerogatives would be exercised the next day on the other side of the Capitol.

Michael Richard Pence was born in the Tea Party, a Fiscal Conservative and then he began tutoring under Generalissimo Boehner.  His actions alone on the Indiana Religious Freedom Bill proved him to be a fraud.  At this point I'm not sure that Gen. Flynn even lied to him or perhaps he became scared of his own fbi.

That may well be right - I prefer to believe him to be without enough spine. He holds the line personally, but he molds himself into what works politically.

Standing alongside of Tumpy, he would be an entirely different thing standing alongside Cotton or Paul or Cruz.

We know Trump's deal with the GOP got us Reince and the deal with Cruz resulted in a Judge List, But what pray tell was the deal that resulted in Pence

Hmmmm....

Wasn't Mr. Pence all set to skip out on a trip to Israel -- and perhaps not even be in DC on January 6th?

Some conservative there, eh...?

Fortunately Mr. Trump has wisely grounded Mr. Pence and cancelled said trip, so that he may occupy his seat in the Senate when the Electoral College votes are counted.

Will he be packin' his man card that day...?
