During Christmas my three-year-old niece explained to everyone at the dinner table that eating broccoli will turn your blood green. Blueberries, she continued, will turn your blood blue, and oranges will turn it orange. She was very frank and sincere as she delivered this medical dissertation.
Sounds she would get along with my nephew Johnny.
While playing in the backyard, Little Johnny killed a honeybee.
My brother saw him killing the honeybee and angrily said, "No honey for you for one month!"
Later that afternoon, he caught him tearing the wings off a butterfly.
"That's it! No butter for you for one month!" he told him.
Later that evening as Johnny's mother was cooking dinner and a cockroach ran across the kitchen floor.
She jumps and stomps on it, and then looks up to find Johnny and my brother watching her.
Little Johnny looks at him and says, "Are you going to tell her, Dad, or do you want me to?"
