Former Free Beacon ‘Men of the Year’ Winners Who Made Us Proud in 2020

Andrew Stiles - December 23, 2020 12:00 PM

It's almost that time of year again, when the Washington Free Beacon celebrates the men who went above and beyond the call of manhood.

Stay tuned to find out who earned "Man of the Year" honors in 2020. In the meantime, we'd like to take the opportunity to highlight previous winners who shined (again) in 2020.

Because we take this task so seriously, few MOTY winners have ever disappointed us. Perhaps the only exception is NFL defensive back Richard Sherman, who had his 2014 award rescinded the following year after appearing in a government propaganda video urging Americans to sign up for Obamacare.

Sherman's fortunes have faded ever since. Earlier this year, for example, he represented Nancy Pelosi's hometown of San Francisco, aka "Poop City," in the Super Bowl. Before the big game, Sherman expressed "doubt" as to whether he'd accept President Trump's invitation to the White House if the 49ers won. They did not.

Here are a few Free Beacon MOTY winners of years past who, unlike Sherman, made us proud in 2020.

Hunter Biden

Honored in 2019 for living life to the fullest, Hunter managed to avoid falling off the wagon during the 2020 campaign. The DOJ investigation into his shady business activity is a real bummer—now that the media have finally acknowledged it—because it might complicate his ability to cash in on his dad's promotion. He remains a hero in the eyes of many.
