More than 350,000 Georgia voters could have their eligibility challenged before Senate runoffs

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says he will not tolerate people living outside of Georgia voting in the Georgia elections.

Election watchdog group True the Vote is working with the Georgia Republican Party to challenge the eligibility of more than 350,000 Georgia voters ahead of the state's two Senate runoff elections in January.

Focusing on questions about voters who have filed change of address forms with the U.S. Postal Service, the group is encouraging Republicans in counties across the state to file voter challenges with their local election boards.

In several counties, including Floyd, Athens-Clarke, Cobb and Gwinnett, complaints have already been submitted to election boards. Some have been rejected, but others are currently being reviewed by county attorneys.

In Floyd County, the complaint letters challenge the voting status of anyone who had filed a change of address form in the state of Georgia. Voters on that list may now be required to use provisional ballots, if they show up to vote at the polls.

The use of provisional ballots, in this case, would prevent those votes from being counted until election officials verify the residence of the voter. The burden of proof lies with the challenger, however individuals may be asked to provide information that proves their votes are valid and legal.

True the Vote, a Texas-based organization, has received backlash for its actions in Georgia ahead of the runoffs. Sean Young, an ACLU of Georgia attorney called the practice "voter caging," and said it's "one of the oldest tricks in the voter suppression playbook."

It's interesting how now all of a sudden he doesn't want any illegal votes, but didn't care in the Presidential election.

Remember, again, the federal law, Help America Vote Act (HAVA) of 2002.  That federal law must be followed in every state and it requires the Secretary of State to be responsible for the state's master voter list.

SOS Brad Raffensperger is responsible to keep that list current.  Now, he has hired some person to run the Elections Division, that person under Brad R., is also responsible for the accuracy of the voter list.

Trying to judge every name on the voter list to be sure the voter is a legal voter, would take too long now as the election is January 5, 2021. That should be an ongoing process.

If Brad can filter out names on the voter list who sent in an address change, he can remove those names before January 5 and if any show up to vote at a voting precinct, their name will not be on the Voter List and they could vote a Provisional Ballot.  Again, remember a Provisional Ballot is a paper ballot.  After person fills it out, it is put in a large envelope that goes to the Early Voting Ballot Board or whatever name they have for that Board.  The Board checks to determine if that person is a valid voter and, if not, rejects the Provisional Ballot.  In ten years of being that Judge of the Board, we rejected every Provisional Ballot.  Either the person was not on the Master Voter List, or they voted in the wrong precinct.  In this case, again, if Brad removed the names of those who sent in an address change, their name would not be on the Master Voter List.

Let's look again at this statement from Brad:
"Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says he will not tolerate people living outside of Georgia voting in the Georgia elections."  So, now he is concerned???  He is the person, by law, who makes sure those people are not on the state's Master Voter List.

SOS...  I have screamed to both senatorial campaigns more than once, that they need poll watchers art every polling location to establish a list of all out of state plates of people leaving said locatiion.  I have been basically ignored.

Brad Raffensperger is a lying POS.  There are currently 1.25 million more registered voters in Georgia than there are people eligible to vote.  And that all happened under Raffensperger's watch.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.
