I am excited to see fellow briefers interested in such a section.
Years ago, I was the IS Director at a newspaper, and the Entertainment Editor would receive mostly hardback books new on the market, and he offered us the books if we read them and would write a review on the book. I read a number of books that way, books I would normally not be inclined to read. It turned out to be an interesting exercise. Here, fellow briefers can provide a review of books and authors they are reading, that will give the rest of us greater options for our reading list, and expand perhaps our discussions on many subjects, not just politics. Speaking of which, I am a bit burnt out on.
I went away for five days to Hot Springs, NC, and even when I came back, I did not plug back in right away to follow the political nonsense. To say I am disillusioned would be an understatement.
EasyAce mentioned an author named Anne Applebaum. I read her book Gulag years ago, and found it to be interesting about the concentration camp system in Russia. The terror folks lived with during the reigns of Lenin and Stalin are quite shocking.
