Nurse in Pfizer vaccine trial who worried she had COVID-19 after developing highest fever of her life at 105F says she can see 'wrong message going viral' if doctors don't warn of 'scary' side effects

Kristen Choi, an assistant professor in the School of Nursing at UCLA, was a participant in Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine trial
After receiving the second jab, she experienced several side effects including pain at the injection side, headache, nausea and a fever of 104.9F
Choi said her symptoms disappeared within 24 hours but that she did worry she had contracted COVID-19
The nurse says the side effects are a natural response from the immune system but worries it will turn people off from getting the vaccine

A nurse who took part in Pfizer Inc's late-stage coronavirus vaccine trial said she experienced several side effects, leading her to worry she may have contracted the disease.

Kristen Choi, an assistant professor of the School of Nursing at the University of California, Los Angeles, enrolled in the study in August and received two shots of the experimental vaccine.

However, after the second jab, she had a headache, nausea, chills and even reached a fever of nearly 105F (40.5C) - the highest of her life.

She said that she worried that she may have contracted COVID-19 - and that her friends believed she did.
