Veteran reporter Bob Woodward is set to write another book on the Trump administration, focusing on its final days.
Woodward, 77, is known for his historic Watergate reporting alongside Carl Bernstein. He will be teaming up with fellow Washington Post reporter Robert Costa, 35, to chronicle the dying embers of the Trump administration with coverage of the first days of the Biden presidency, according to Axios. Woodward confirmed the report on social media Monday morning.
"We're two pure reporters — what happened and why — and this is a perfect landscape for that kind of work," Woodward said.
The book, Woodward's twenty-first compared to the first for Costa, will be published by Simon & Schuster. No title or publication date has been announced; however, they are expected to be working on an expedited timetable. The elder reporter will continue to work as an associate editor at the Washington Post, while Costa will take a leave to focus on the book and will remain a national political reporter.
Woodward's latest book, Rage, also focused on President Trump. He interviewed the president 18 times for the book, which featured never-before-released anecdotes about the president's handling of the coronavirus pandemic, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s letters to Trump, former Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats fearing that Russian President Vladimir Putin had dirt on Trump, among other details about the Trump presidency.
The president admitted to "playing [the coronavirus] down because I don't want to create a panic" in one of the more explosive anecdotes from the book.
The White House did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner's request for comment.
