John Hopkins writer says US COVID numbers exaggerated – ‘Total decrease in deaths by other causes almost exactly equals the increase in deaths by COVID-19’ – Article then removed?!

By: Admin - Climate DepotNovember 27, 2020 6:10 AM

This is via LockdownSceptics in the UK:

“An article in the Johns Hopkins Newsletter published on November 22nd summarised the findings of Genevieve Briand, Assistant Program Director of the Applied Economics Master’s Degree Program at Hopkins. She analysed all-cause mortality in the US in 2020, comparing the data to deaths in previous years, and found, to her surprise, that 2020 was less exceptional that it seemed at first blush.”

Apparently the article has since been taken down by John Hopkins, but is accessible for the moment through the google cache link above:

“The reason we have a higher number of reported COVID-19 deaths among older individuals than younger individuals is simply because every day in the U.S. older individuals die in higher numbers than younger individuals,” Briand said.

That US "Covid Death" numbers basically include anyone who had tested positive or had Covid symptoms before dying - other than deaths caused by gunshot, car accidents, and falling Acme anvils - really is not news. What I haven't seen discussed is whether countries with lower Covid death numbers, like Norway, Germany, and Netherlands define a "Covid Death" differently, especially when comparing those countries' numbers to the numbers of neighboring countries (e.g. Norway-Sweden, Germany-France, Netherlands-Belgium).

Apples-plums (deciduous fruits) comparisons aren't much more valid than apples-oranges (deciduous-citrus) comparisons.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

New Study Highlights Alleged Accounting Error Regarding Covid Deaths

[Editor’s note: the article and video discussed below have been pulled by Johns Hopkins Newsletter. You can read the announcement here. The claims made by the professor will clearly require more investigation, as the announcement says. That said, AIER is publishing this in the interest of objective science and open discussion.]

At the time of this writing, the United States currently maintains the highest number of Covid-19 deaths and ranks 11th for the highest deaths per capita. There have been approximately 262,000 recorded Covid-19 deaths in the United States, which is certainly a concerning number.

However, a new study (link removed or site crashed but now available at Archive.org) published by Dr. Genevieve Briand at Johns Hopkins University notes some critical accounting errors done at the national level. The study – which is still being vetted – simply examines the raw data that should have been questioned months ago. The overall conclusion is that Covid-19, at least according to collected data, is not the killer disease that it is currently hyped up to be. AIER is not endorsing the study as is without further study, but we are interested in the argument being examined and discussed.  ...

Essentially, there is an average number of deaths every year due to a variety of causes that for the most part have remained constant through the years. This includes morbidities such as heart disease, which has long been the leading cause of death, and cancer, which has long plagued our existence. For Covid-19 to be a serious cause of alarm, it would need to significantly increase the number of average deaths.

However, according to the study:

“These data analyses suggest that in contrast to most people’s assumptions, the number of deaths by COVID-19 is not alarming. In fact, it has relatively no effect on deaths in the United States.”
Total deaths in the United States show no significant change and even mirror past trends of seasonal illness.  ...

Does anyone know how many people die in the US every year from all causes?   I'd like to compare those numbers from the last few years to the dead in 2020.

How many people die a day in the US?

According to the United Nations World Population Prospects report, approximately 7,452 people die every day in the United States. In other words, a person dies in the US approximately every 12 seconds. You can see a live clock keeping track of how many people have died today at https://www.indexmundi.com/clocks/indicator/deaths/united-states. You can compare the number of deaths in the US to the number of deaths in other countries at https://www.indexmundi.com/clocks/indicator/deaths.

Note: The numbers in this post were estimated without taking into account the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The net effect of the pandemic on the average number of deaths in the US will not be clear until some time in the future. Today (March 29, 2020), 484 deaths were reported due to COVID-19, which is close to 6.5% of the normal number of daily deaths; however, it is possible that deaths due to other causes may have decreased because of widespread social distancing, quarantine, and stay-at-home measures. On the other hand, there may also be an increase in the number of deaths that could have been prevented if medical resources were not focused on COVID-19 patients. For more information about COVID-19 cases and deaths in the US, visit our coronavirus section.

A few days ago Johns Hopkins published a study saying corona is nbd. They then deleted it. Read it here in its entirety.

Johns Hopkins published this study on Sunday which posits that Covid is nowhere near the disaster we're being told it is. I would summarize it for you or offer pull-quotes but honestly you just have to read it yourself because it's mind-blowing. The original article is now deleted from the Johns Hopkins website ... for some reason. Luckily the internet is forever and it's available via the Wayback Machine. Here is the article in its entirety: https://web.archive.org/web/20201126223119/https://www.jhunewsletter.com/article/2020/11/a-closer-look-at-u-s-deaths-due-to-covid-19  ...

{excerpt:  Surprisingly, the deaths of older people stayed the same before and after COVID-19. Since COVID-19 mainly affects the elderly, experts expected an increase in the percentage of deaths in older age groups. However, this increase is not seen from the CDC data. In fact, the percentages of deaths among all age groups remain relatively the same.

“The reason we have a higher number of reported COVID-19 deaths among older individuals than younger individuals is simply because every day in the U.S. older individuals die in higher numbers than younger individuals,” Briand said.

Briand also noted that 50,000 to 70,000 deaths are seen both before and after COVID-19, indicating that this number of deaths was normal long before COVID-19 emerged. Therefore, according to Briand, not only has COVID-19 had no effect on the percentage of deaths of older people, but it has also not increased the total number of deaths.

These data analyses suggest that in contrast to most people’s assumptions, the number of deaths by COVID-19 is not alarming. In fact, it has relatively no effect on deaths in the United States....}
