A California judge in San Diego has ruled that the state cannot take any action to prevent strip clubs from “being allowed to provide live adult entertainment,” and must allow them to reopen. The owners had argued their First Amendment rights were being violated and the judge agreed.

Meanwhile, places of worship are making the exact same argument about their First Amendment rights and remain closed. Apparently, sinful activity has more rights than godly pursuits.

In fact, this is a case study in why lockdowns are unfair and invariably arbitrary. So far, the courts have mostly given the government a free hand in this public health crisis, but how much longer is this “state of emergency” going to be used to violate the Constitution with impunity?

Being clear, AFAIK this judge has not ruled for strip clubs while ruling against churches. But his ruling does complicate the State of CA's defense in churches' lawsuits against the state. I would not want to try to argue that lap dances are OK but singing people seated 6-12 feet apart is a health hazard.

So, let me get this straight.  Buster "The Body" Crab living on a stripper can jump freely to patrons during a lap dance or random pelvic gyration is okay.  But fully clothed worshipers six feet apart in random church pews is not okay?

Assalamu ‘alaikum. Based on health officials orders, only outdoor prayer services are permitted. No indoor services are allowed. Prayer shall be limited to a maximum of 25 persons. Participants must wear facial masks at all times and must always follow social distancing protocol of maintaining a six feet distance between them. Each participant must be screened for symptoms of fever or illness.

Based on the latest order, inshaAllah we will resume prayers beginning Friday June 5, 2020 on a limited basis as a phased approach. This will be a learning experience for us because of complexity of logistics involved. Services will be expanded gradually as we learn to manage the logistics. Fajr and Isha prayers have resumed and prayers will be held, and only at the courtyard outside of BVMCC space on 5885 Santa Teresa Boulevard, Suite 113. Three Jummuaa Prayer Services at BVMCC have been added as of June 26 – Phase 1.c - 1st at 12:30 PM, 2nd at 1:30 PM & 3rd at 2:00 PM with online reservations required at NCIC website for the first 23 people for each service while abiding by the below guidelines in the same area courtyard but further back from when we are praying Fajr & Isha as easement with the neighbors during their working hours is observed.

These are all in the San Jose area. So, yes, Santa Clara County is imposing on Islamic Centers and Muslim Community Centers the same restrictions they have imposed on Christian churches. If you really are curious, @240B, search "City Name mosque" using your favored search engine and go to the centers' websites to see what restrictions they say they follow.
