World Series Game Two---Live Thread

Top of the first.

RAYS

Austin Meadows---two fastballs, two called strikes; fouls a splitter off; fouled down the 1B line; ball two, fastball high; fouled off plate umpire; Dodgers shifting to the right against the LH batter; popped it up left side of the infield, Seager toward third base to catch it.

Brandon Lowe---swinging strike on a fastball; ball one fastball just low; ball two slider, down and inside and to the backstop; ball three upstairs; hit well left center field, it is gonnnnnnne, goodbye!! The Rays strike first.

Randy Arozarena---called strike letter high; swinging strike two; ball one; pops up a slider away to center field, two away.

Ji-Man Choi---ball one outside; strike called at the belt; swinging strike two; ball two, slider in on his hands, swinging strikeout on a high fastball.

1-0 Rays, middle of the first.

Mookie Betts---takes a strike up in the zone; ball one, curve ball lands high; called strike, curve ball hits the middle of the zone; slider breaking low gets him out swinging!

Corey Seager---first pitch fly to right, well struck, back to the track is Manuel Margot to catch it three feet in front of the 374ft marker.

Justin Turner called strike one around the middle; called strike two in the middle; ball one, fastball high; fouls a fastball  back; slider in at the belt and strike three called!

Three-and-three for Snell, 1-0 Rays after one.

RAYS

Manuel Margot---ball one low, Dylan Floro throwing in the Dodger bullpen; fouls off a fastball down the right side; ball two high; ball three, splitter low; ball four just down and away, the Rays have a leadoff runner.

Joey Wendle---fastball, strike called around the middle; throw to first, Margot back safe, he's a threat to run; ball one missing low, squirts out of Will Smith's mitt as Margot took off, he steals second without a throw; fly ball, center field, deep, Bellinger back and sets up for the catch, Margot tags and takes third with a head first slide. One out, Dodger manager Dave Roberts making the pitching change, the Dodgers planned a bullpen game. Dylan Floro relieved Tony Gonsolin, p, Dodgers.

Willy Adames---changeup hits the low corner for a strike, the Dodgers have the infield in and shifted around to the left side; ball one misses outside; fouls one off; ball two, changeup missing low; grounder to short, Margot running on contact, coming home and he's a dead duck by fifteen feet with Seager playing the grounder short on the grass, Adames safe at first on the fielder's choice.

Kevin Kiermaier---throw to first, Adames back safe, swinging strike on a changeup arriving low; lays off the low change, ball one (hinted bunt but pulled back); throw to first, Adames diving back safe, swinging strike on another diving changeup; ball two down and outside; ball three down and outside with the runner going, Adames beats the tag for the steal but the Dodgers challenge the safe call, they may have a case since Seager took the short hop and got the tag down in one motion and kept the tag on when Margot came off the base a tick. The umps have the headsets on . . . the call is overturned and Adames is out stealing. That's the side.

Will Smith---ball one, fastball down and in; ball two, changeup hits the dirt; ball three, fastball borderline and Snell gets the call; swinging strike on a back door slider; curve ball hits the outside corner, strike three called!

Cody Bellinger---throw to first, Muncy back safe; ball one, curve ball comes in just low; ball two, fastball misses the low outside corner; ball three, slider misses the low outside corner; ball four, fastball low, the Dodgers have first and second and one out.

A.J. Pollock---ball one high and away; Rays PC Kyle Snyder to the mound to talk to Snell; fouls a changeup away; fouls a slider in the air to the right side, back of first, Choi in foul territory catches it 25 feet up the right field line.

Enrique Hernandez---takes a fastball strike off the middle; fouls a curve ball back out of play; swinging strike on a slider up! The Dodgers threaten but don't score.

Mike Zunino---ball one down and in; ball two fastball misses inside, Victor Gonzalez warming for the Dodgers; fouled back; ball three, changeup inside; strike called down the middle; popped him up, Seager back in shallow left has it, two out.

Victor Gonzalez relieved Dylan Floro, p, Dodgers.

Austin Meadows---first pitch swinging, popped up to the left side, shallow left, Turner and Seager going out, Seager runs past Turner to catch it, Seager takes care of all three outs.

Randy Arozarena---takes a strike around the middle (shows bunt but pulls back); ball one down and inside; ball two way down and in; ball three just off the low inside corner; ball four low, the Rays have a one-out runner.

Ji-Man Choi---grounds the first pitch, right side, Hernandez bobbles and throws to Seager covering second for one but that's all they get. Dustin May relieved Victor Gonzalez, p, Dodgers.

Manuel Margot---takes a strike above the middle; lined foul down the RF line, out of play and a fan catches it near the foul pole; ball one slider high; slider lined hard but foul down the LF line out of play; weak grounder through the open right side for a base hit, Choi to second, the Rays have first and second with two out.

Joey Wendle---fouls one straight back; hits one to deep right center, high line drive, past Betts and going to the wall, Bellinger picks it up, Choi home, Margot around third and scoring, the Rays have a 3-0 lead!

Willy Adames---fouls one up the 3B line; bounces one to first, Muncy takes it to the pad unassisted, but the Rays lead 3-0 in the middle of the fourth.

Mike Zunino---fastball just low and away; grounded right to Seager at short, a little high throw but Muncy has it for the second out.

Austin Meadows---ball one low; swinging strike on a tailing fastball; ball two, check swing curve ball in the dirt; line shot to right center, Bellinger cuts it off to hold Meadows to a long single.

Brandon Lowe---fouls a fastball in on the hands back; couldn't check his swing on a curve ball down and in; Joe Kelly throwing in the Dodger bullpen; sent to left well hit, Taylor going back, it's off the top of the wall and gonnnnnnnnnnnne goodbye!! 5-0 Rays. Two bombs for Lowe in the game.

Randy Arozarena grounds out to second on the first pitch, but the Rays are up 5-0 in the middle of the fifth!
