NBC town hall panned as 'Biden infomercial': 'Undecided voters' didn't seem so 'undecided'

   NBC's town hall featuring Joe Biden did not receive the warmest reception on Monday night.

The outdoor, televised event, which aired on both NBC and MSNBC, took place in the swing state of Florida and moderator Lester Holt told viewers that all of the Miami attendees were "undecided voters."


Holt kicked off the town hall by asking him to react to President Trump's departure from Walter Reed Medical Center and grilled him by asking if he was "surprised" by Trump's coronavirus diagnosis; if he thought the president's medical team were "forthcoming" with information about his condition and whether he "trusts" their assessment; if he had "a moment of pause, of worry" when he first heard about the diagnosis following the first presidential debate; if he would "pledge to transparency" as president regarding his own potential health issues. and if he believes Trump "bears responsibility" for contracting the coronavirus.


Then the "undecided voters" were able to speak to the former vice president one-on-one. Of the roughly eleven voters who were able to ask questions, one was described as "leaning" towards Biden, one was described as a "registered Republican" that was also "leaning" towards Biden, one was described as a former registered Republican who "voted for Hillary Clinton" and other one voted for Clinton in 2016 but he, too, according to Holt, voted for Republicans "in the past." None of the attendees were described as a Trump voter or "leaning" towards voting for the incumbent president.

All of their questions were primarily focused on Biden's plans as president rather than tough questions that challenged the candidate on his 47-year record.

Biden: 18,000 Got Clemency under Obama Admin, Trump Only ‘Got Two or Three’

During a town hall on NBC on Monday, 2020 Democratic presidential nominee former Vice President Joe Biden contrasted the Obama administration’s record on criminal justice reform and President Donald Trump’s by stating that under the Obama administration 18,000 were granted clemency, and Trump only granted clemency to “two or three” people.

Moderator Lester Holt stated, “He [President Trump] points out — to the criminal justice reform bill, and you and Barack Obama served at a time when you had both houses of Congress and still couldn’t get some of these things done.”

Biden responded, “Yeah, we did. We let — 18,000 people were — got clemency. He got two or three, what he’s talking about. We had — the violent crime rate was down 15% in our administration. 15% down. You didn’t see these white supremacists rising up.”

CLAIM: Former Vice President Joe Biden said President Donald Trump “did not want to answer any questions” in the first presidential debate.

VERDICT: FALSE. If anything, it was Biden who avoided questions — especially on the Supreme Court.

A voter asked Biden at an NBC town hall Monday night in Florida whether Trump had knocked him “off your game” at the first presidential debate last week.

Host Lester Holt followed up by noting that Biden had called the president names. Biden responded: “The one thing that became absolutely clear: he didn’t want to answer any questions. He did not want to talk about substance. If you notice, not one single time that I can recall did he offer a substantive answer or criticism related to a policy matter.”

That is false. Trump provided several substantive answers. It was Biden who avoided questions.

It’s true Biden defeated self-proclaiming socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont for the Democratic nomination. It is also true that since Biden’s electoral victory, Sanders dominated the nominee’s post-primary platform to resurrect the Vermont senator’s socialist agenda with Biden as its Trojan horse.

This is small potatoes. There's one shoe dropping right after another on the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. A audio tape of Biden talking on the phone with Xi plotting Trump's murder could air on OAN and the rest of the press would shrug. No one cares.

Well, Joe, YOU "look like" an aging corrupt politician who's now past his "use by" date.
