A growing number of top Republicans in President Trump’s orbit have tested positive for the coronavirus in recent days, leaving the White House, Senate and Trump campaign to grapple with a frightening health crisis a month out from the election.

Trump is hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center with a mild cough, congestion and fatigue. First Lady Melania Trump has also received a positive diagnosis, as has senior White House adviser Hope Hicks, who had been traveling with Trump to fundraisers, campaign events and the presidential debate.

Kellyanne Conway, the former special assistant to the president, tested positive after recently attending a crowded Rose Garden event to unveil the president’s pick to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court.

Sort of glaringly obvious how odd it is.... that "only" Republicans have been infected.  I think most American voters can connect those huge dots and will vote accordingly this November.

I don't think it's odd at all.  Democrats wear masks, don't schedule large gatherings, social distance, probably wash their hands frequently.  Republicans do none of that. They make a point of ignoring every guideline the CDC has come up with and people are surprised that they're catching COVID left, right, and center?

You haven't been paying attention then, have you.   I've seen pics of Pelosi and Feinstein, both Democrats, out in public sans mask.... in the at-risk age group... yet no virus.   And you can bet your @ss that there are lots of other Democrats doing the same thing (masks for thee but not for me) but haven't been 'caught on camera' (yet).

Democrats wear masks until the red light goes out on the camera. They've even been caught taking them off as soon as they thought the camera was off. Nice try, skippy, but I'm  not buying it.

You do know that there is close to zero actual scientific data to show masks do much of anything for a virus in the air. And your eyes are entry points into the body for any virus in the air so unless you do something about that too not much protection is actually occurring. All the studies of masks based on many years of flu seasons have shown zip help.

As far has handwashing, you're going with Republicans "probably" don't wash their hands as frequently compared to Republicans based on what exactly?

What's the last thing you touch when you are done washing your hands? The faucet you turned on (to turn it off)? The doorknob? Unless the little sanitizer fairies are running along behind you making sure those surfaces are germ free, you pick it back up again. That doesn't stop me from washing my hands, and I bet other folks, even Republicans do, too, but let's get real about the limitations of all that fanfare. That mask is the equivalent of putting up a chain link fence to keep the mosquitoes out (it only stops the big ones).

Do we know for sure that everyone at the Judge Barrett introduction was tested for COVID ahead of time?  I don't think a test was required for the debates and sure as anything no testing is done before Trump rallies.

SO, who else got sick? The real clue as to when and where and maybe even who, is in the support personnel, furniture movers, caterers, staff, etc who also did or didn't catch the virus.

Exactly...I used to think those on the right except for a few "conspiracy  theorists" where totally sane and rational but in the party of Trump emotion has taken over rational thought...seems the Dim's and the GOP have given up on thinking and rely totally on emotion...
