Just a pretty song and I don't think Johnny Mathis has been represented on here yet. If he has I missed it so here he is.

Ah, Mr Mathis, what a role you played in the romantic adventures of my teen years. Great voice.

One good Johnny Mathis deserves another. Of the many, many songs of his posted on Youtube this is one of my favorites, so here 'tis.

A biographical note of not much consequence but I almost met Mr Mathis once. When I was in the Army I was stationed in Korea and Mr Mathis came to the base (Camp Casey, for those who know) where I was stationed. I was in the facility in which he was to sing when he walked in, but I simply did not have the nerve to walk up to him and say something like, "Welcome to Korea" and shake his hand. One of my favorite all time singers and I punked out. Lol. Anyway I did enjoy his performance and it was free 'cause it was sponsored by the USO.

Return with me now to yesteryear and the early roots of rock and roll. From 1957 The Coaster's "Searchin''. Even the recording, probably kinescope, is old with a young Steve Allen doing the intro.
