I defy you sit down through this..........

The first time I hear this song it was after midnite and I was on the roof of the airport in Port of Spain, Trinidad waiting for a friend whose flight was late.  I had borrowed some tapes from another friend for my Walkman and popped this in just as I could see the lights of the plane in the distance.  It made for a surreal moment, seriously.  (On a sad note, the friend who I borrowed the tape from committed suicide in the Dominican Republic two years ago.  He was the most alive, most vibrant person I have ever known. I am still grieving)

Darn Lando.....I missed this.

I would have loved to see them in concert.  David Byrne is incredible.  I had my speakers cranked up too!  Amazing.

So sorry to hear about your friend.  So sad.

You can't change it,
can't rearrange it
If time is all that we got
then baby let's take it

Lovin' is a lovin',
the moment is a-right
It's worth all the years in the past,
let's go one more night

Get away from the blind side of life
Honey I want you to be by my side
Me and my back door moves ain't no more,
no more

Get away from the blind side of life
Honey I want you to be by my side
Me and my back door moves ain't no more,
no more

Get away from the blind side of life
Honey I want you to be by my side
Me and my back door moves ain't no more,
no more

Goodnight my darlin',
another day has passed
Forget all those painful memories,
our love's gonna last

Come to me baby, come to me one more time
It's time we got movin', time to move on
Let's slide out the door, let's slide out the door
Ride our way home, let's glide our way home

Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go,
let's go, let's go, I've come back for more

A BIG FRIDAY NIGHT BUMP FOR STEVIE!!!

I lived in Hong Kong for about a year - 1983/1984.  I lived in an apartment in the New Territories and would travel often to Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.  I turned 30 there (which has its own story).  Let's just say... well... this song hits a chord.

Wow, I know this sounds like BS but I swear, not a word is embellished.  I swear.

Geno was a Cuban whose family was wealthy in the good days of Cuba.  They were forced from Cuba and moved to Miami.  No one, anywhere, had a stronger disdain, hate, for Castro and Che than Geno.  And, I swear, he trained for the Bay of Pigs but was not chosen to go.  It was a scar that only fed his anger.  But, he was so vibrant, so alive... and I have NEVER met a man who could melt the female heart like him.  My mother loved him, I mean... loved him.  So gracious, so charming.  I worked with him in Colombia, Ecuador, Trinidad, Costa Rica.  He was married to a former Miss Colombia when he shot himself in the Dominican.  I will never understand why.  I loved him dearly.

Anyway, he loved Miami Vice when it was popular.

RIP Geno.
