Biden prepares ad onslaught to overwhelm Trump
By Reid Wilson - 09/30/20 01:24 PM EDT

Former Vice President Joe Biden and his Democratic allies are preparing an advertising blitz that threatens to overwhelm President Trump in the closing weeks of the race for the White House, an onslaught of cash aimed at blowing up what Trump campaign officials once called their Death Star.

Biden’s campaign alone has reserved nearly a quarter billion dollars in advertising over the next five weeks in 18 swing states. Outside groups that support Biden have blocked off $112 million in their own airtime.

President Trump’s campaign, which spent heavily on advertising earlier in the year, is set to spend far less. So far, the campaign has reserved $130 million in airtime in 13 states, according to data provided by one Democrat and one Republican watching the advertising market.

Outside Republican groups have reserved $39 million in airtime. That figure is set to rise in the coming days after America First Action, a super PAC run by close Trump advisers, said Tuesday it would purchase $40 million in airtime, digital advertising and direct mail in five battleground states.

I'm wondering just how much difference ads make any more.

I think most people (on either side) have made up their minds by now, and from this point have become "unpersuadable".

Then again, there's those 5-10 percentage points of "undecideds", the wishy washy waving wheat spineless folks who probably won't decide for whom to vote until they're in the booths, and even then just picking their candidates at random...

Too many ads can turn people off and work against a Candidate.

People can be turned off by an obviously unfair attack, such as blaming Trump personally for 200k pandemic deaths. Which I’m sure Biden will hit with ads heavily. It would not surprise me if that particular attack backfires.

That's exactly what happened to incumbent Democrat Governor Roy Barnes here in Georgia back in 2002.  He was already way ahead in the polls with a ton of money to spend.  So he spent and spent and spent on media ads propping up his education record.  It soon came out that Georgia was ranked 47th in education nationally.  On election day, the citizens of Georgia chose their first Republican governor in 136 years.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

C.D.C. says only 9,000 actual death's from covid.  Our normal flus can be as high as 30,000 + a year.  One million and 500 thousand people died from diabetes alone.  About 200,ooo malpractice deaths.  Issues?
