CNN reporter forced to pull plug on live Supreme Court shot as hecklers repeatedly shout ‘Fake news!’
September 27, 2020 | Tom Tillison
It’s not easy being CNN when millions of Americans readily see them as “fake news,†thanks in large part to President Donald Trump’s persistence in calling the network out for its reporting.
On Saturday, CNN was forced to cut away from a live shot outside of the U.S. Supreme Court, when hecklers began shouting, “Fake News!â€
CNN correspondent Ariane de Vogue was on site and was discussing the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett with anchor Wolf Blitzer.
“I want to bring in our Supreme Court correspondent Ariane de Vogue,†Blitzer said. “We heard the president say that [Barrett] will decide cases based on the Constitution as written. And then we heard Judge Coney Barrett saying the law must be applied as written.â€
“So explain to our viewers what is behind those specific words, where she is coming from and what we would anticipate if she does become a justice on the supreme over the next 30 or 40 years,†he added.
