Trump mocks Biden for calling 'a lid' before 9 a.m.

President Trump mocked Joe Biden on Thursday after the Democratic presidential nominee's campaign called a "lid" on activities for the day early in the morning, saying Biden would be preparing for Tuesday night's debate.

Trump, whose campaign has ripped Biden for not doing more press events while seeking to raise questions about the Democrat's age, stamina and mental acumen, called Biden "sleepy" and "low energy," insults he has repeatedly hurled,

"Sleepy Joe Biden just closed down his campaign for the day (Again)," Trump tweeted. "Wants to rest! He is a very LOW ENERGY INDIVIDUAL, and our Country cannot make it in these exciting, but complex and competitive times, with a Low Energy President !!!"

Everyone seems puzzled on why Biden called a lid at 9 AM and the answer is very simple. What are the media talking heads in an uproar about today? Trump saying he wouldn't promise an orderly turnover if he lost. We can argue all day about what Trump really meant but the media is all spinning it to make Trump look as bad as possible. So when you opponent is giving the media all the ammunition they need to try and make him look bad then why open your mouth and maybe take away from that?

The guy doesn't last very long, does he?
Will "the lid" get called on the day of the first debate?

Actually, I think ol' white Joe may have a brush with the covid virus a day or two before the debate.
Not "come down with it", but be reported to have been in a situation where he was "exposed" to someone who had it (that person may not be named).
Thus, he'll have no choice but to quarantine for 21 days or so, to "protect" not only himself but others as well.

Perfect excuse for not showin' up...

Perhaps because the public obviously is discounting the anti Trump media spin, which has been going non-stop since 2016? Maybe they remember the political axiom that people will not turn out in numbers sufficient for a majority to vote against somebody, they need something to vote for?

And there is another Latin axion that says si facere non errare. Biden can use ads and carefully prepared speeches to say what he is for, if that's even needed. But he also wants to whip up the anti-Trump voters and what better way to do that than let Trump take the headlines.

Conventional wisdom says to lower expectations before the debate. Proclaiming that slow or sleepy Joe will stumble and be unable to articulate himself sets a very low bar for Biden that he may easily surmount in the eyes of viewers.

Why not. Who knows - 'whipping up' voters with stories of Trump not conceding might even work this time.
