I can't believe how much I've enjoyed watching the RNC Convention on C-Span. The pacing of the speeches, the quality of the speakers and most importantly the content of the speeches has been terrific.
I love my country. I want everyone to be able to live in peace. I want everyone to have an equal opportunity to succeed in whatever they pursue. The Pubs are making it clear they represent "fly over country" not the corporate or govt. elites.
@biloI agree with every word you wrote, but have to admit I was actually surprised to enjoy watching and listening to the convention. They usually bore me to tears or make me even more cynical than I am anyway, but neither happened a single time this year.
The last time I can remember being moved at all by a political convention was when Julian Bond (I think that was his name) gave a speech at a Dim convention in Atlanta in the 60's,talking all about peace, brotherhood, equality, etc, etc, etc. I was actually young and naive enough back then to think he really meant it,and it damn near brought me to tears.
I still didn't vote for him,or anyone else, though. I was in the army, and didn't think soldiers should be involved in politics in any respect, including voting.
