Over 80,000 mail-in ballots disqualified in NYC primary mess

August 5, 2020 | 6:53pm

The mail-in ballots of more than 84,000 New York City Democrats who sought to vote in the presidential primary were disqualified, according to new figures released by the Board of Elections.

The city BOE received 403,103 mail-in ballots for the June 23 Democratic presidential primary.

But the certified results released Wednesday revealed that only 318,995 mail-in ballots were counted.

That means 84,108 ballots were not counted or invalidated — 21 percent of the total.

One out of four mail-in ballots were disqualified for arriving late, lacking a postmark or failing to include a voter’s signature, or other defects. The Post reported Tuesday that roughly 30,000 mail-in ballots were invalidated in Brooklyn alone.

Hmmmmm...
Lemmmeeeesseeee here...

If the mail-in ballot system is flawed in the blue states (like NY),
and
If lots of democrat-communist voters mail them in, with the result that many of their votes are lost or invalidated,
and
If Republican voters eschew mail-in ballots and vote in person instead,
then
This should "tilt" many elections toward the Republican candidate, should it not...?

@mystery-ak

This is the "Early Voting Ballot Board" working:  The Board examines every mail-in ballot's materials and if they are incorrect, the ballot is rejected.

1.The mailing envelope must be postmarked to know when the ballot was mailed.  If it is not there, the Board must reject the ballot.

2.  If the mailing envelope is late arriving (after election day), it is rejected, unless it is a military ballot.

3. If signatures are not there, the Board must reject the ballot.

Once the Board has completed their work, the Judge must send a letter to every voter whose ballot was rejected to inform the voter why the ballot was rejected.

The Las Vegas one:

"According to data collected by the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) from the Clark County Election Department, a total of 223,469 mail-in ballots sent to registered voters for the June 9 primary election ended up bouncing as “undeliverable” — 17 percent of the total 1,325,934 mail-in ballots that were sent out in the county."
________________
What happened here is, counties did not update their voter list.

The way this works is:
When voters are sent a new voting card, if the card is returned as "undeliverable" a mark is placed by that voter's name.  The next time voter cards are sent, if again, it is "undeliverable", the voter's name is placed on a list and another card is not sent.  After a certain period of time, the name is removed.
