Throughout history, as the wise Ancients understood, ideas gave birth to action.
Since the Garden of Eden, Man, despite his warts, had maintained strong spiritual
sensibilities, regardless of his religious attitudes/beliefs.
It was the French Enlightenment that birthed their revolution thru a very direct notion.
That idea was that Man's material betterment was vital for the well being of he and his
dependents; a simple notion of great power that revolutionized the world over time as
a higher calling, replacing his spiritual sensibilities. But how so???
Behind the Enlightenment, Capitalism was being born altering the nature of work, wages,
products and pricing creating markets and ultimately great material wealth.
We of the present, obviously have untold wealth in contrast to our predecessors.
Yet reflect a moment and compare the Art, in all forms, created since the mid-18th century
w/the Art created in the thousands of years that preceded it.
Indeed we have more stuff and so what!!!
