IMHO I feel an attempted coup has been going on since Trump took the oath of office. Members of the GOP (Mitch McConnell being one of them) and the DEM party vowed that he would be a one term president. The DEMS have obstructed just about every attempt Trump has made to swing this country in a more positive direction. Members of the GOP have not stood behind him. Russian collusion, impeachment, COVID, BLM/Antifa, and now mail-in voting are all attempts to take this president down.
@libertybele I think the best way to understand what has happened in American politics is to do like the professional pols,and look at public office as a Union Job.
If you want a job,you MUST visit the local boss and kiss his ass and promise him or her that you will be obedient to union rule,and you will allow him or her to dip their beaks into any "honey pot" you might stuble across,as well as work for free to help promote him or her higher up the ladder,hoping they will bring you along as they climb each rung.
All this while KNOWING at ALL levels that the union leaders will gather the wagons in a circle to surround and protect you if something goes wrong.
It is a religion is some respect,and like all religions,the leaders DEMAND absolute obedience and respect. In return they protect you and sometimes give you access to a higher level of graft if you prove you can be trusted.
The RNC/DNC Union was steaming along and things were going just fine for all of them. They had all been working together for as long as they had been in office,and everybody knew the system and understood what was required of them.
Then,all of a sudden,this outsider who had only been good for making the required bribe payments to conduct his businesses pops up out of nowhere and has the GALL to want the top spot!
Not only that,but he runs as a outsider who wants to fight against and destroy the corrupt union system running things!
EEEK! EEEK! EEEK!
Good thing nobody will take him serious,huh? Let's let him run because it will guarantee a Dim victory,and our path to domination will continue uninterrupted. With any luck at all,he will lose so badly it will discourage any other scab from trying to steal a union job.
