It's hard to believe that anyone would apply for a job as a police officer in that God forsaken hell hole. It would be funny if not so sad that that idiot mayor who is so responsible for rioting and carnage the city has and continues to suffer now talks about residents feeling unsafe.

I say we need to pull their US citizenship and refuse to allow any of them to return to America.

On Monday, Amber Kinney, who served as a Multnomah county Deputy District Attorney for 13 years, handed in her resignation, citing issues that include District Attorney Mike Schmidt's lack of leadership.

"Please consider this letter my official notice of resignation. After nearly 13 years as a Deputy District Attorney, and despite loving my job, I am no longer willing to continue at the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. By way of explanation and with the hope of fostering improvement for the future of our office, I will provide my reasoning," the letter begins.

Kinney made note that her resignation was not due to "philosophical differences between your vision and my own."

"To the contrary, I believe change is long overdue and had hoped I would be part of the move into a more progressive, equitable, just and effective criminal justice system. I was looking forward to partnering with you to implement some of the ideas you expressed in your campaign," she wrote.  ...

Kinney noted that attorney management in the office is comprise of only one female, despite the current ratio for lawyers in the office being around 50/50 men and women. Of higher up positions, 80 percent she said were occupied by men. Of the next level down though, level 3 lawyers, nearly 70 percent are women. ...

A woman was killed and five other people were wounded in a shooting Saturday night in Portland’s Rose City Park neighborhood.

Portland police responded about 8 p.m. to a reported shooting near Northeast 55th Avenue and Hassalo Street, which is roughly the southwest corner of Normandale Park. Officers found the woman dead.

Five other wounded people — three women and two men — were taken to hospitals. Neither their conditions nor the circumstances of the shooting were immediately clear.

Portland police didn’t say in a late-night news release whether anyone had been arrested.

The shooting came as demonstrators gathered at Normandale Park for a march seeking justice for Amir Locke, Patrick Kimmons “and all others,” according to a graphic promoting the demonstration on social media.

Locke, a 22-year-old Black man, was fatally shot Feb. 2 by Minneapolis police serving a search warrant. Kimmons, a 27-year-old Black man, was fatally shot by Portland police in 2018. A grand jury convened after Kimmons’ death found no criminal wrongdoing by the two officers involved.
