U.S. Coast Guard reports busiest Fourth of July weekend on Great Lakes in 5 years

U.S. Coast Guard personnel throughout the Great Lakes region had its busiest Fourth of July weekend in at least five years
Despite the presence of COVID-19 and increased pressure to social distance and isolate, the Coast Guard conducted more than 100 search-and-rescue missions, saving or assisting more than 300 people throughout the region.
Despite those successes, at least two lives were also lost on the lakes during the holiday weekend, July 3-5.
