Tucker Carlson slams spineless Republicans for push to replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth
July 2, 2020 | Vivek Saxena

Much to the dismay of disgusted Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who’s accused the two of bowing to Black Lives Matter hysteria, on Wednesday two ostensible Republicans, Sens. Ron Johnson and James Lankford, introduced a proposal to replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth,

The proposal was introduced as an amendment to a bill rolled out last month by Sen. John Cornyn, also ostensibly a Republican, that would make Juneteenth a federal holiday.

The two claim their goal isn’t to erase history but to allegedly save the federal government money, given as the addition of a new federal holiday would cost it millions more in paid leave.

I wasn't a fan of Tucker's when he first started out ... but I've really grown to believe he is a voice of conservatism.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Considering how far left Fox has swung lately... Tucker is still doing pretty good at getting the non-leftist word out.   Let's hope he can keep it up.

Republicanism has nothing to do w/principled conservatism and never had.
When enough voters internalize this cold reality, the party will disappear just like the Whigs.
And as Koko sang,"They never will be missed; no never, not ever!!!"

Replaced with what?   Careful of that void.   That's how entire races, creeds and generations get wiped out.

Political parties are a modernist fad birthed by the Enlightenment, which asserted
the horse manure that democratic governance was infinitely superior to monarchy.
Be they Mensheviks or Republicans, they stand for nothing bur narrow self-interest
that fattens their wallets.

You sound like you've been well-programmed... got all the lingo down pat.  Too bad it's all BS.

Democratic governance, like our representative republic, works just fine (and has) unless or until the commies get all uppity...like now, for instance....

and clearly need to be slapped the F down.   If the Republicans in DC won't do the job....

We the People will have to.

They are not taking my Columbus Day away. Since America was a pup it’s been celebrated, now suddenly because a cop in Minneapolis stood on a black guy I gotta give up Columbus Day? And switch it out with some obscure date in Texas history? No offense to Texans or black Americans but didn’t Emancipation cover that ground already?

Erase our history; the fight for our freedom, our Founding Fathers and our founding documents and they destroy our country.  That is exactly what is happening.  That is the reason for the aggression towards different statues and monuments and now the attack on Christianity; the principles and foundation of our country. They are trying to erase and replace our history with their own. The liberals/globalist want to replace history and will make the "new world order".

It is not about Floyd; he was an excuse that gave them an opportunity to launch an assault on this country and to bring her down.

Given your infantile grasp of history, suggest you refrain from labeling anyone else's comments BS.
The Rules of Natural Law guided Man some 5,000 years ago, in the person of Sargon of Akkad,
the earliest of Mankind's Monarchs/Rulers and conqueror of Mesopotamia.
Many followed him in the Fertile Crescent, later in Carthage, then Phoenicia, Egypt, Greece and Rome.
After the fall of the latter, the nation/states of Europe began to form, a trend that continued till the end of the 18th century.
The period from Sargon to Louis XVI spanned more than 4,000 years, during which Mankind's
greatest achievements in Art and Science were executed, Monarchy being the norm of rule.
Then the Enlightenment dawned followed by the French Revolution which turned its back to the
past, by asserting that material betterment was Man's higher and more noble calling.
This sea change in focus ushered in our current norms of governance, in the form of communism, socialism, representative democracy and the rest.
As Bernard of Chartres asserted in the 12th century, we moderns are conceited dwarfs who only see as far as we do because we are able to stand on the massive shoulders of the giants who proceeded us and made possible our ability to survive and thrive.
Our Founders included Virginians Jefferson, Madison and Monroe while we are only able to
produce jackasses such as Biden and Trump. But we are the greatest. Why of course!!!
