COVID-19 death rate is 75% lower in states that didn't lock down: WSJ
Limbaugh: Media 'want you to think cases equals sickness, equals death'

A lead editorial in the Wall Street Journal reveals the per-capita death rate for the coronavirus is 75% lower in states that did not panic into lockdown mode.

"GOP governors have faced enormous media pressure to lock down their states in solidarity with Democrats, and some now are getting browbeaten to shut down again amid coronavirus flare-ups. So it's worth pointing out that states that didn't lock down this spring kept the virus under control and experienced fewer deaths than most [of the states] that did," the Journal's editors said on Wednesday.

My thoughts on this is there is a "time factor" at work, and it varies from state-to-state.

In places like New York, New Jersey and Connecticut -- where the virus exploded "early on" -- the death rate was higher (in part) because a few months ago less was known on how to treat the disease, particularly among the old, frail and very sick (not to mention Cuomo's policies in NY state).

By contrast, at the same time other states in the midwest, mountains, south and southwest were barely at the "foot of the upward curve", with few-to-no cases present. But this is changing as these states now experience their bugeoning of infections. However, the body of medical knowledge has expanded to a point where more is known about how to treat it. Hence, fewer deaths.

Here in Connecticut, new infections still occur but not at the high rate of two months ago. Just checked the numbers a minute ago while composing this post.
Today, we had 81 new infections statewide and 11 deaths.
My latest numbers for Fairfield county -- 39 new infections and 5 deaths.
Here in town, 0 new infections the last day reported, 2 the day previous.

And, unmentioned, are the other causes of excess mortality from the "lockdown" measures -- things like delayed cancer treatments due to "elective" (i.e. not needed to prevent immediate death) surgeries being banned, and increased suicides due to depression in isolation.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

@Fishrrman

Let us not forget that included in all those high case numbers are people who have been determined to be infected from tests they have taken,but show no signs of being sick.

Listen to the media,and you would think all those "infected Americans" are living at Death's Door.

If the media were required to start reporting ONLY the numbers of people hospitalized from infections,and the number would drastically drop.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!
