Senior Joe Biden campaign adviser Symone Sanders asserted Friday that the former Vice President’s “you ain’t black” gaffe on The Breakfast Club was actually a joke.

“Vice President Biden spent his career fighting alongside and for the African American community. He won his party’s nomination by earning every vote and meeting people where they are and that’s exactly what he intends to do this November,” Sanders wrote on social media:

In jest...pure nonsense!  Biden did what he normally does and goes ballistic with the guy.  Biden cannot tolerate being challenged in any way.  He expects all to bow down before his royal highness and kiss his toes.

This man does not have the temperament to hold any office in government.  And he certainly is not someone I want with his finger on tens of thousands of ballistic missiles.

Spin as they will, there's no way to avoid the simple fact that the foundation of Biden's comment - serious or joke - is the Dem Party's assumption that "the black vote" belongs to the Dem Party.
