Former USS Theodore Roosevelt captain Brett Crozier leaves Guam for new Navy assignment in California after being stripped of carrier's command for raising the alarm about coronavirus outbreak
Fired USS Theodore Roosevelt Captain Brett Crozier has now left Guam where he was recovering from the coronavirus and has been re-assigned to a new position
He was relieved of his duties on April 2 after a letter he wrote to superiors urging them to respond more quickly to a coronavirus outbreak on board leaked
While questions still loom over whether he will be reinstated, Crozier will serve as special assistant to the Naval Air Forces Chief of Staff, Capt. Max McCoy
Acting Navy Secretary James McPherson ordered a deeper review into Crozier’s firing and the coronavirus outbreak on board the ship on Wednesday
The investigation is expected to be submitted to Adm. Mike Gilday, the chief of naval operations, by May 27 unless an extension is granted
Here’s how to help people impacted by Covid-19
