Birx: 'Devastatingly worrisome' that stay-at-home protesters aren't social distancing
By Zack Budryk - 05/03/20 09:40 AM EDT

White House coronavirus task force coordinator Deborah Birx on Sunday said it was “devastatingly worrisome” that those protesting at state capitols against stay-at-home orders did not wear masks or practice social distancing, warning that they could unknowingly transmit the novel coronavirus to at-risk relatives.

“It’s devastatingly worrisome to me personally because if they go home and they infect their grandmother or grandfather who has a comorbid condition and they have a serious or very unfortunate outcome they will feel guilty for the rest of their lives. So we need to protect each other at the same time as we’re voicing our discontent,” Birx said on “Fox News Sunday.”

Protests took place in at least 10 states over the weekend with demonstrators calling on their governors to reopen businesses. Hundreds of protesters, some of them armed, demonstrated at the Michigan state house Thursday, eventually crowding inside to demand Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) allow public life to resume.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion
I'm sure it is devastatingly worrisome to Brix and Fauci that Americans may find out what utter Bovine Excrement confining healthy not at risk people to basically house arrest and destroying the economy was!
I can't believe some of the hateful comments that have been directed at Californians for gathering to protest Newsom's fascist decrees and their other ignorance that citizens in numerous other states are also gathering to protest their governors's over reach. Pointing out their ignorance gets you attacked because it harshes their bashing California high.

We saw cases rise in Washington and New York; especially in New York.  Trump was correct in taking the action that he did.  I think most governors were looking at NY and thinking holy crap ... this could be coming my way and took the actions that they did.  They shut down things in order to prepare; more PPE's for healthcare workers (some are still short) and to make sure the appropriate steps were taken to prepare to set up emergency hospitals if necessary. Even 'healthy' people have died from this virus, not many, but still the virus has taken its toll.

Now that we've secured masses of ventilators, masks, gowns, and prepared for additional hospital space, things have opened up.

Could have this all be avoided; probably yes, but we didn't know that mid March. We didn't know what to expect.  We could still see a second wave come through, but there would now be no reason to shut down. Those who are compromised need to assess their risks.

There are 30 strains of this virus, and I don't think there is going to be any one vaccine that's going to protect everyone from this.

The possibility that this vaccine was orchestrated to bring Trump to his knees, is a possibility.  The economy sure took a huge jolt and Biden miraculously made it through because all of his opposition stepped down.

People absolutely have the right to protest being under house arrest ... we cannot turn back the clock as to what has already happened though.  We have to move forward ... unfortunately, we are being dictated to as to how we can move forward.

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Sorry, I still don't buy the numbers for Covid deaths, they have been manipulated from the start and I really don't buy this pandemic being worse than the last three. I will go out on a limb and guess that every virus mutates over time and am pretty sure I read about mutations in the viruses in the past pandemics. Also I am willing to bet that no state has provisions in their constitutions to place healthy people under what amounts to house arrest. From the beginning there was lying and misinformation and the pandemic was capitalized on by the socialists to make inroads on a one world government and most definitely capitalized by our socialist democrats here in America to push their agenda and find out just how much they could control Americans.

We disagree on this, and that's OK! You want to err on the side of what you see as public safety and lives, while I firmly believe we need to push back hard against what has become a too dictatorial America and in some states outright fascism. I respect your position but I believe we shall have to continue to respectfully disagree.

Like her or not, the woman makes a point.

I guess we're gonna find out soon enough how wise a decision it will have been to end restrictions in states/cities across the country.

Wait about two or three weeks in those places.
Then... look at "the numbers"...
