President Donald Trump said Monday that the decision to reopen the U.S. economy is his to make, and that a decision “will be made shortly.”

“For the purpose of creating conflict and confusion, some in the Fake News Media are saying that it is the Governors decision to open up the states, not that of the President of the United States & the Federal Government,” Trump tweeted. “Let it be fully understood that this is incorrect. It is the decision of the President, and for many good reasons.”

“A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!” the president concluded.

Predictable that Trump would insist it is "his decision to make"; exposing
his non-existent understanding of political/social problem solving.
The Principle of Subsidiarity, evolving in the Republic of Rome, was
defined by the Scholastic Philosopher/Logician, William of Occam.
It asserted that issues involving the social order are to be dealt w/at their
most immediate/local level consistent w/their resolution.
This Principle became a linchpin of English Common Law, our legacy from
England's 200 year rule of our Colonies.
De Tocqueville labeled it decentralization which was a prominent governing
trait of our early republic particularly from the Southern Agrarian Democrats.
