'No metro area will be spared': Birx warns every city could face significant coronavirus outbreak

The top doctor from the White House Coronavirus Task Force warned that no city should lower its guard against the coronavirus.

Dr. Deborah Birx explained that every city in the United States will face a coronavirus outbreak. During a Sunday interview on Meet the Press, Birx warned cities that the spread of the virus is inevitable.

"This is the way pandemics work, and that's why we all are deeply concerned and why we've been raising the alert in all metro areas and in all states. No state, no metro area will be spared," Birx explained.

She continued, "And the sooner we react, and the sooner the states and the metro areas react and ensure that they've put in full mitigation, at the same time understanding exactly what their hospitals need, then we'll be able to move forward together and protect the most Americans."

As of Sunday morning, the U.S. had nearly 125,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and more than 2,100 related deaths. The New York City metro area has been the hardest-hit area in the country. New York has more than 52,000 confirmed cases and 728 related deaths.

It occurs to me that the people who are underplaying this pandemic as less than what it is are people who live so far away from cities that their risk is much less than the majority of Americans.

New York City is a prime example.  Their Democrat "leaders" downplayed the threat, and they are now in complete chaos.

But the innocent people in NYC have every reason to be afraid.  They cannot do as most of us can, and go out for a walk for our mental health.  They are trapped in a monstrous city with millions of people and their risk is enormous.

Those of us in smaller cities or even large towns have less risk, but much greater than those who live in rural areas who are isolated even without 'orders.'

We need to be in prayer for the people who live in large metropolitan areas.  The danger there is very real.
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

"Sometimes I think the Church would be better off if we would call a moratorium on activity for about six weeks and just wait on God to see what He is waiting to do for us. That's what they did before Pentecost."   - A. W. Tozer

Use the time God is giving us to seek His will and feel His presence.
