Study: lockdowns and social distancing mandates only reduced the spread of the virus by 13%.

Think about that: up to 90% of human activity squashed, for only 13% reduction of spread. No sane person can look at that and say it is worth it.

Of course with the information and research that we have now it is obvious we should have never shutdown as more harm than good was done.

I'm sure many, including our national security experts, are examining possible weaponization of people infected with Covid-19 to intentionally spread it in US (or in key US cities).
Easy to do, hard to trace?
Perfect weapon for China/Russia/domestic terrorists?

Remember, this virus is the product of research (and recombination) aimed at "enhanced abilities".
Essentially, making SARS more contagious was the goal.
Whether it got out by accident or design, I'm reasonably convinced this is a lab product.

@Smokin Joe

Say WHAT????

It is an established fact that it was created in a lab in China.

Hell,it MAY be the only thing China has sent us that lasts longer than a week.

This is an attack on our economy - not on our lives.  And in that regard, it has had a far more devastating effect than ebola or anthrax ever could.

BINGO!

The Chinese don't want to take over a wasteland filled full of rotting bodies. They want to inherit a slave colony that can be productive and support the millions of Chinese subjects they want to import here to run things.

Not to mention Europe and the rest of the world. No big deal to them if millions die everywhere including China because they have a virtually unlimited source of replacements,but they want and need places they can occupy pretty much immediately.

Like most novel attacks, however, the question is "How would we respond to this again?"

@Smokin Joe

We will do nothing because nobody wants to start a nuclear war.

What we SHOULD have already been doing is fermenting revolt in China so their masters get overthrown,and the Chinese can be free for the first time since the beginning of time. Of course,that would have interfered with all the bribes given to people like Pelosi,so we didn't do it.

Near the end of that thread, someone gives an account of how their nephew afflicted with cancer died alone in a hospital because his mother was prohibited from seeing her own son.

@Hoodat

EVERYBODY dies alone. Dying is the most "alone" thing you can do.

Or more likely,whacked by their Chinese masters for being "wise asses". We in the west tend to forget some basic rules of survival,like the one that states "Masters don't like being humiliated by serfs. If you draw jealous attention to yourself,you are apt to become a speed bump in the new highway."

@Smokin Joe

Hard to say how much just "happened" due to it's own existence and the Chinese sending their young people off to the west to try to learn how to learn. The old "How ya gonna keep 'em back on the farm after they have seen gay (in a GOOD way!) Paree?" syndrome.

It's a hell of a lot harder to "unlearn" something than it is to learn it.

Sometimes it's hard to put a cork back into a bottle.

Which can create it's own terrors as the Masters of China begin to fear losing control.

No more 14 day quarantine? CDC finds evidence COVID-19 patients not infectious as long
by Adrian Mojica
Friday, July 24th 2020

As doctors and scientists continue to get a better grasp on novel coronavirus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released new findings when it comes to dealing with COVID-19.

Citing multiple studies by the agency and beyond, the CDC found those who have mild cases of COVID-19 may not have to be in quarantine for 14 days, that duration potentially being shortened to 10.

Scientists found 10 days after onset symptoms, patients they studied did not have "replication-competent virus" — or in simpler terms, virus which could infect cells and replicate. ... FOX17/Nashville

This does verify another study which suggested that virus shed after 8 days could not replicate or infect.

The fact is, only 1 in 6 cases of COVID are actually infectious at all. But that one can infect dozens. We don't know yet how to tell an infectious case from a non-infectious one until, well, they start infecting others.
