Know that I've posted about it once before...but I just started re-watching LILYHAMMER on Netflix.

A sensational black comedy about a New York City mafia-fixer who chooses to live in Norway because he loved their decades-ago Olympics.

With all the crazy bullsh*t that bombards our senses everyday, THIS is the perfect escape.

It gets so that as soon as you picture "Johnny" you burst out laughing.

I give it   :2popcorn: :2popcorn: :2popcorn: :2popcorn: :2popcorn:    :patriot:

I saw this a few years ago. Steve Van Zant has the lead. The part seems to be made just for him. :)

I found some old DVD’s at a garage sale yesterday.

Bought one, “Ellery Queen” from 1975 starring Jim Hutton and David Wayne.

I remember when this was first run, my family really liked it.

This was even better than my memories.   :)  :pop41:

We just finished up the Jesse Stone series with Tom Selleck. It was an enjoyable watch and I especially enjoyed the lack of curse words that are so prevalent in many of the current series.

@Gefn

The way I remember it,he turned in former on his mob bosses in exchange for witness protection and being sent to Norway because nobody would think of looking for him there.

AND......,he immediately started his own mob the instant he got there because basically, that is all he knows how to do.

Well, being from Sicilian descent and coming from a large extended family, I had uncles and even employees who spoke EXACTLY like 'Frank Taglione'.

Even had an uncle who walked like him...as if he was wearing shoulder pads.  LOLOL!

I saw it years ago, after my cat died. Some acquaintance I had suggested I binge watch this series to take my mind off kitty

He absolutely KILLED that role on The Soprano's.

Truth to tell,I see this series as an offshoot of the Soprano's,with him playing the same role.

Patiently waiting for Season Four of Yellowstone to begin.  2 hr. season premiere.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

We watched the first 2 episodes of season 4 last night. It was interesting and very good. I do, however, wish they would learn more words than just the “f” word.   *****rollingeyes*****

I liked it.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.

Agree on the language...I have questioned whether I'm grown up enough to watch this show, lol. The Duttons make the Ewings look like the Clevers.

I didn't watch from the beginning, but binged season 1, jumped around season 2 and watched the last 4 episodes of season 3. So now I have to see who engineered this hit on the family. It is well enough written that it does hook the viewer.

I watched two disaster/apocalypse films over the weekend.

The first was a 1985 film from New Zealand called "The Quiet Earth". It was interesting, if not entirely plausible. Worth the time it took to watch it.

The second was "Carriers" from 2009, about four young folk trying to survive after a plague wipes out just about everyone else. It was clunky and irrational. Not worth the trouble.

Are you into mysteries?  I'm a big Poirot fan.

Agreed.  Definitely the best Poirot.  I heard Suchet in an interview where he talked about once playing the role of Inspector Japp in another production.  He said he was the worst Inspector Japp ever.
