Candlelight vigils and requests by the pols for the shooters to stop the violence have not worked.
To stop the slaughter I am among those who support stop and frisk and other methods that many, including people on this forum, have called unconstitutional.
What would you suggest as a plan of action?
The People's Republic of Maryland has some of the most ridiculous gun laws in the country, behind perhaps Chicago, California, and New York.
Make it easier for someone with no criminal history to obtain and carry a firearm, and to defend themselves. If people could shoot back at the criminals, like they can in other, more sane jurisdictions, after a brief spike, things would settle down.
While I understand there is a demographic in Baltimore which leans toward violent acts, especially shooting each other, I believe letting good folks return fire would put a damper on the situation.
