The first bullet point – “Bats were not sold in the Huanan Seafood Market†is likely true. Contrary to popular belief, bats are not a food typically eaten by most native Chinese although it is eaten in Micronesia, specifically on the island of Palau where most of the videos claiming to be of people eating bat soup in Wuhan were actually filmed.
That does not mean however that bats aren’t the ordinal reservoir. The genomic sequencing of SARS and MERS showed the virus originated in bats (and bats are a reservoir of many, many coronaviruses, some only recently discovered with more being identified all the time) and jumped to an intermediary animal host before infecting humans and causing human to human transmission, in the case of SARS it indicates Civet Cats which were/are sold in many “wet markets†including Wuhan and in the case of MERS, the intermediary host was camels.
Just because bats were not sold in the Huanan Seafood Market does not mean that bats were not the original reservoir as the virus could have jumped from bats to another animal such as pangolins in the wild – the wild pangolins then being captured and sold in the wet markets.
As to the second bullet point – “A third of the early Chinese victims had no connection to the Huanan Seafood Market†IMO neither proves nor disproves that the wet market was not the origin as we know about asymptomatic human to human transmission. While the focus has been on the Huanan Seafood Market it is not the only wet market in Wuhan and IIRC, some vendors operate among several.
When I have had more coffee later this morning, I’ll watch the video, however I will note while The Epoch Times does do some good reporting on CCP human rights abuses, they also have an agenda owning to their affiliation with Falun Gong and their understandable hatred of the communist Chinese government but they also sometimes spread conspiracy theories such as QAnon and anti-vaccination conspiracies so even as I suspect the CCP was and is not forthcomming about the virus (along with many other things) and reporting on this is very much needed, one has to take with some grains of salt reporting from the Epoch Times.
If you keep in mind that the Chinese changed the parameters for declaring a case of COVID-19 to include having a connection to the wet market, the picture becomes sharper. That is the narrative the CCP wanted to present. It also ignores that there were cases (without the wet market connection) which met all criteria for infection with SARS-CoV-2, nearly 1/3 of the total cases before and concurrently with the cases from the wet market.
Consider the incubation period, backdating the time of infection from 4-14 days, and case zero had no connections with the wet market.
Because
one of the viruses used to manufacture the SARS-CoV-19 virus was clearly of bat origin, the bat in the market story was used to throw the world off the track leading to the origin of this virus in a laboratory setting.
Considering the research done in creating this exact sort of virus, and the improbability that viruses in the wild would make these specific species jumps and recombinations on their own, the laboratory origin of this disease, the SARS-CoV-2 virus is as evident as it is documented.
Whether the release was accidental, through poor protocols, sloppy handling, or what ever mechanism, or whether the release was intentional, as a form of asymmetrical warfare, the act of destroying samples and information early on in a cover-up attempt indicates great potential for further perfidy--like Maxwell Smart playing "would you believe" with the Chief--with each successive fabrication still designed to distance the regime from the release and absolve it of guilt and/or intent.
If the release was accidental, it would cause a great loss of face that the CCP and the current regime caused a worldwide pandemic by being sloppy.
If the release was intentional, do you think the regime would hide behind stories which might absolve it of guilt for as long as possible? Sure, they would.
There is no advantage like committing acts of war on your enemies (or the world) without them realizing that is what you are doing.
Epoch Times has found the rest of the breadcrumbs, among those scientific papers published by the scientists at Wuhan which document (and seek prestige from) the accomplishments of grafting a Bat-borne SARS variant with another Coronavirus to make it more readily capable of infecting a human host. The presence of HIV genomic sequences in the virus indicates that may have been grafted in as well. It is no more natural than a winged dog with the head of a cat.
What purpose exists for
inventing a virus with those characteristics? (What those research papers document, including the one I have linked
ad nauseum on this board, which tied not only Chinese researchers (along with some American ones, early on in 2015) to the research in this specific field with these specific viruses being recombined in a lab, but tied, through the provenance of those scientists and the institution to which they returned, (to The Wuhan Institute of Virology) when the Obama Administration cut off funding. The research persisted, in China, at the Biosecurity Level 4 labs in Wuhan, and subsequent scientific papers were published documenting that.
It's all there, perhaps in the polysylabic and acronymic nomenclature of the field, but also in black and white. Q.E.D.
