Don't rush out and stockpile water and toilet paper.
Wash your hands.
Spread common sense, not panic and nonsense
Well, I stockpile paper products and other non-perishables every fall, but that's in preparation for bad winters when I can't get out to shop. Water, I get out of the tap. I live in a lousy neighborhood, but one good thing we do have here is water. I keep numerous bottles in the refrigerator and elsewhere.
But this old lady refuses to stay home. I was out earlier today in fact. It's 68 degrees outside right now. By tomorrow it will be in the 40s and who knows what it will be like by the end of the week. Snow is still possible here. So no way am I staying home when the weather is nice.
You are right about spreading common sense. Remind people to wash their hands and do all the good hygiene practices we were taught as kids (but I think many people forgot or they never learned). That is what should be promoted, not panic.
In Pennsylvania we have seven confirmed cases so far. All but one are at home, self-quarantined. All of the cases are in the eastern part of the state closer to Philadelphia. I live closer to Pittsburgh. I refuse to be panicked into confining myself needlessly.
