U.S. Is Only The 17th ‘Most Cyber-Secure’ Country, Study Shows

The latest study into the countries with the best, and worst, cybersecurity by research organization Comparitech, has been published today. The good news is that of the 60 countries that were included in last year’s listing, only six have a worse score than before. The bad news is that the U.S. is one of them. Along with Brazil, France, Iran, Japan and Singapore, the U.S. failed to improve its cybersecurity stance. Most alarming for some readers will be the fact that the U.S. dropped from its previous ranking of 5th to become only the 17th most cyber-secure country on the planet. Of course, when it comes to such league tables, the devil is always in the detail, and metrics really do matter. So, is this such bad news as it first appears?
