Ice Age Now  by Paul Driessen  March 5, 2020

Lighting, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, computing and other costs will soar – for families, hospitals, schools, churches, businesses, factories and government agencies.”
– Paul Driessen

“The Virginia “Clean Economy Act” is moving rapidly along, and could reach Governor Northam’s desk in mere days,” writes Paul Driessen. “It will have significant impacts on Virginia energy bills and environmental quality. If it starts a trend, it will have serious implications in the near and long term for the Atlantic Seaboard, United States and world. The Virginia law alone would mean tearing down numerous generating stations that have many productive years remaining – and replacing them with hundreds of gargantuan offshore wind turbines, solar installations totaling several times the land area of Washington, DC, and tens of thousands of half-ton Tesla style backup power batteries.”

“These technologies would require millions of tons of concrete, steel, copper, antimony, rare earth elements, carbon-fiberglass composites and other raw materials – mined on the cheap overseas with little attention to US laws, regulations or ethical standards for child labor, workplace safety, fair wages, air and water pollution, wildlife preservation or mined lands reclamation. The price of electricity for lighting, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, computing and other costs will skyrocket – for families, hospitals, schools, churches, businesses, factories, government agencies and charitable groups.

“And yet, despite all these costs, with emerging economies still building coal and gas power plants by the hundreds, even if carbon dioxide has replaced the sun and other powerful natural forces in driving climate change, Virginia’s fossil fuel eradication efforts might reduce future global warming by an undetectable 0.001 to 0.01 degree.”
