It’s been a while since we last wrote about Rep. Eric Swalwell … when he’s not running a failed presidential campaign or breaking wind on Hardball (no wonder Matthews retired) there’s not a lot there to write about. Except, of course, when he starts making up stories about people on airplanes giving him an ‘atta boy’ or constituents yelling at him about the Democrat coronavirus hoax.

    My office just received a call from a constituent who yelled, “I’m not falling for the Democrat #coronavirus hoax.” President @realDonaldTrump, it’s imperative people take this seriously. Your words are giving them the impression that it’s not serious. You must do better.

Following Schifftyroo's example. Looks like Swillwell will have an actual R opponent (unlike in my district, Anna Eshoo's), but unless the Rs get amazing turn-out Swillwell will win handily.

Really?  A Pubbie got into the General in the Jungle Primary?

In that district I was mildly surprised. When Swillwell was first elected his opponent was the obnoxoid D incumbent, Fortney "Pete" Stark.

The predictable fact that voters' November ballots often have two Ds or, occasionally, two Rs is one of the reasons I voted against the "Jungle Primary". The other is that it is a near absolute bar to third parties ever becoming significant - their voters are effectively disenfranchised in every November election.
