IMHO, that line perhaps hints at Biden's plan to have O'Rourke run as his VP.

In a surprise moment at the end of his Dallas rally on the eve of Super Tuesday, former Vice President Joe Biden called former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke up to the stage -- and vowed to put O'Rourke, who has said the government should forcibly seize assault rifles from Americans, in charge of gun-control efforts.

Also at the rally, Biden accepted the endorsements of onetime rivals Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar, as the Democratic party's moderate wing rallied behind Biden to challenge anti-establishment frontrunner and self-described "democratic socialist" Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.

"Ladies and gentlemen, tomorrow, March 3, 2020, I will be casting my ballot for Joe Biden," O'Rourke announced to applause at the rally's conclusion..........

No fewer than three former 2020 Democrats rallied around former Vice President Joe Biden on Monday: former Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn), and former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas). Beto dropped out of the presidential race after becoming ever more radical and foul-mouthed, to no avail. Among other things, he promised to uproot Americans from their homes and to strip the tax-exempt status of churches that disagree with him on same-sex marriage. Yet his most notorious statement came last September, when he said, "Hell yes, we're gonna take your AR-15."

If Joe Biden really were the moderate candidate the Democrat establishment and legacy media bill him as, you might expect him to minimize Beto's radical past. Perhaps he'd accept the endorsement, say some kind words about anything other than Beto's claim that he was "born" to run for president, and rush the radical off the stage.

That's obvious.
They are all saying to their supporters, If you can't vote for me...vote for Biden.
However, I doubt it will work. These people only had 'supporters' by default.
Their supporters didn't really choose them; they just 'liked' them over the others.

I think it's the case with Klobuchar and Pete... but Beto's support was limited to begin with and his gun control policy is totally too radical, confiscation.

Biden is represents the old white guy DEMS.  Beto represents the younger more to the left whackier DEMS.  I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Biden/Beto ticket. Beto was speaking Spanish at the rally -- hoping to capture the Hispanic/Latino vote for Slow Joe.
